Hello all!

Just a quick query regarding contact lenses, ie are they easy to obtain, are the reasonably priced and are they any different from regular western contacts?

In general are opticians cheaper or more expensive than the likes of the UK and Ireland?

Contact lenses are very easy to get here. They are non-prescription. You can walk into any eye glasses shop and tell them what brand and prescription strength you are looking for.

Not sure how they compare to UK/Ireland prices, but are about the same as US prices for the contacts themselves. However, glasses and seeing an eye doctor or optician is significantly cheaper here.

I agree about ubiquity but I've never been able to find my BC size in any shop in Korea, having I've been to at least 30 I'm sure. All they ever have is 8.7, even in Itaewon, so apparently every single Korean eye is the exact same size.

Don't know how much they cost in the UK or Ireland, but my particular lenses are way more expensive in Korea than the U.S. You can compare for yourself: http://www.replacemycontacts.com/
