This topic was going well, someone has a problem - we can all pull together and help that person, then all of a sudden, some personal attacks start flying. Wow, the level of immaturity here is just fantastic. Grow up kids.
Also on topic - listen to the advice the others posted before me - wait until the 6 month mark has passed, then visit the pension office. Try to stay upbeat until then, after the pension office you can quit, work your notice (hopefully) and start applying for a new (not so rubbish) job. |

To those of you complaining about Korean kids and teachers---Why aren't you teaching in your home country now? At least Koreans don't bring guns, knives and baseball bats to school, and Korean kids are much more respectful than Western kids. When I taught in public schools in the U.S., some students threatened to sexually molest women teachers. No kids in any country are "all" thrilled to learn another language. I wasn't thrilled in my Spanish classes either. If it's so bad in Korea, why not go home?

Sounds like an apologist's statement to me.

Yes, KubelHomer, I couldn't agree with you more. PatrickBusan thinks he knows everything--he is a "Master of Korea," a true Korean apologist, and loves to get into everyone's thread and give his unwelcome 2 cents. Any Westerner that apologizes for Korea is a traitor. It means you didn't get along in your own country, so you hate it, and now, PRAISE GOD, you finally found a country that can tolerate you. Pretty pitiful.

Again I forgive you TJ, since you haven't learned "college" level English. If you note the verbs and adjectives (consult Webster's for what verb and adjective mean) you'll note that not complaining about students is just common sense. Students in Korea are no worse than anywhere else. Comlaints about sleazy hagwon owners who don't pay you on time, or at all, are prefectly valid. You own a hagwon, don't you TJ? I guess you would know. |

Wait one more month, so you've got more rights.
As for medical, go to the labor board after the 6th month to "check why it's taking so long" for your boss to get you the health insurance document you need. Also, ask if they'll "check" on how much you've got in your pension, because you are curious.
Before 6 months have passed in your contract, you're "probationary" and have NO RIGHTS. Stick it out. Trust me on this. |
The labor board does not "check" on pension. That's what the PENSION OFFICE is for. |
Okay, the pension office. I'm sure if he contacted the labor board, they'd have given him the correct channel. Chill out. |

You'd be surprised how much inter-ministry communication DOESN'T happen. |

Can we tone down the white supremacist nonsense? Seriously. |

I'm married to a Korean woman, so, it's kind of unlikely I'm a white supremicist. Take it easy on the PC (politically correct) stuff, huh? This isn't the Ellen DeGeneres Show. |

So what you're saying is Koreans are good enough to marry, but not good enough to apologize for? |

Wow! You are really anal retentive? So I mispelled a word; and I'm the only one ever to do this, right? Good to know we have pedants like you to save us from committing the egregious crime of "mispelling" a word. And I take it you're never made a mistake either, right? Gee, I hope I spelled everything correctly; I wouldn't want to offend your "delicate" sensibilities. |

Ummm.... probably 30-40% of white power gangmembers are married/defacto to other ethnicities, or are in my country anyway. So its not that unlikely at all... |

Was misspelling 'misspelled' and 'misspelling' supposed to be ironic? Don't worry if it wasn't. It didn't offend my sensibilities. |
