When did this $xxx ONO thing start? Does it mean "or no offer?" Like, if you won't give me what I am asking, don't bother trying to buy it? I read the Buy/Sell/Trade forums religiously and I am seeing it with increasing frequency. I don't like seeing it because it (seems to me like it) is basically a rude way of saying "firm." Why not just say $xxx FIRM? I think that is much better.

I've been using OBO ever since I started buying and selling used things. When did people start using ONO? Or is that a British or Canadian thing? Or am I just the only person who didn't know what that meant? Laughing Man, I feel stupid now!

I thought "or next offer" but nearest is much better.

If I advertise something for 10,000 won or best offer, the best offer could be for 10 won and I could technically be obligated to sell for 10 won.

If I advertise something for 10,000 won or near offer, and I am offered 6,000 won, I could accept, or I could say thanks for the offer but its not near enough. It is the sellers discretion to determine what a near offer would be.

ONO may or should mean OR NEAR OFFER cause NEAREST and BEST have the same meaning.

On Ebay there is MAKE AN OFFER function. You can buy it at an established price or you can make an offer that the seller can consider.

The best way would be to say buy it for 10,000 won or make an offer.

From now on, all buyers can assume that when I put OBO in a classified ad, that is what I mean. Laughing

Well done, sir, I salute you Smile

P.S. I'm not being sarcastic. I thought your post was very funny.
