Couldn't help but notice the similarities on this...yet another example of K-Pop producers mildly altering a Western pop song, (which has already been pushed on people in advertising here) autotuning some gorgeous hacks and scoring a #1 on the MNet charts.

Who in this country is original?

What was the latest Korean invention?

Why do the locals insist on doing things that have already been done but better?

It was garbage when it was britney and the Korean knockoff is just the same if not worse.

It's not as if the music Koreans rip off was particularly creative, original, or wonderful in the first place. The entire music industry is pretty much rubbish. The entire concept of music as an industry is pretty much rubbish in fact. The world is filled with talented, competent musicians; the fact that a large portion of the population is gulled into handing over substantial money to an incredibly tiny percentage of them is what's embarassing. No one is such a good singer or musician that they deserve millions of dollars for their skill.

I may be alone in thinking this but I like that T-ara song. A few of their songs are rather good.

Original, no. Creative, no. Catchy, yes.

K-pop is all about delivering that catchy hook; when it's not bastardising the English language into dreadful Konglish.

K-pop is not about showcasing talent but churning out year-upon-year of manufactured groups who have a "unique concept". The "concept" that needs to be re-invented after each song to enable a new selling point to the masses. That "concept" of which will be copied by every other group before it gets boring.

It's not that bad as pop songs go. Kinda catchy. I like it.

Who ripped who off? You sure Britney didn't take it from T-ara, or someone else?

Anyways, producers trade tunes all the time, probably some industry trade show that encourages world producers to be uncreative and rip...I mean trade tunes.

Not the first time Britney has been ripped off in Korea. The K-pop icon Hyori did it about 4 years ago.

All pop music is ripping off other stuff. There has not been anything new in the world of pop, or rock since the 80's. Now is either rnb pop such as beyonce, synth pop such as lady gaga, kidde pop - britney, coldplay pissrock or muse pissstadiumrock. IT's ALL THE SAME!

True! So in lieu of any real talent, we must judge by more superficial criteria. T-Ara is way hotter than Britney, who is past her prime in that category. In fact, she repulses me.

I just discovered from my students that Hyo Ri is being called a gaga-wannabe by the netizens due to her latest video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8Uz_Rdd0FY

The fact that I understand any of that shows that I've been teaching middle school girls for too long.

Underwaterbob, why did you have to post that link? It just destroyed my image of Hyo Ri. I am not joking - I am crushed.

Hyo Ri, what have you done to yourself? Please say you won't dress that way again, and I will forgive you.

When I first saw the Hyori concept pics for this new album, I immediately thought of Shaolin Soccer and when the bun girl went nuts with the makeup and clothing... I lol'ed.
