Would asking if anyone wants to hit up Hongdae with me next weekend be like asking to grab a beer after an AA meeting?
Seriously. I love shopping and I don't spend a lot of money on it. But when I spend $10 on a new lipstick or eyeshadow each week, I feel like I am treating myself to something special without harming my body in any way. I think for some it can be a negative addiction, but a little self-medication in the form of new heels isn't so bad in the grand scheme of thing. |

I breath air. You know, the air people drive cars in. The air cows fart in.
I drink alcohol. I eat red meat. I live dangerously.
All-natural cosmetics cost too much and I still think half of the appeal is moral superiority. So I guess I'd rather be a degenerate and pay 7k for an Etude House lipgloss than pony up for some hippie crap that DOESN'T EVEN COME IN CORAL (Zomg!) |

okay, I just came back from the store and I got the milk but no bread nor bell peppers, opting for those thin hot green peppers plus picked up strawberries, lettuce and ice cream, the latter of which I don't need and ain't particularly healthy. was buying a litre of it a sign of illness? *shrug* does simply wanting it and to hell with the consequences represent any sort of illness or dysfunction? *shrug*
it sometimes seems like frugal self-conscious people are the ill ones, that what they need is less self-reflective, judgemental psychobabble and more letting loose and not worrying so much: shopping is a disease if you think of it as such in the same way that an alcoholic as defined today was simply a hard-working heavy drinking bachelor of the Ernest Hemingway days
do what you want, and if you do have big regrets then do something to curb what has become through your concern a bad habit |

In my time I've done some sales (actually, cold calling) work out of the neccesity for cash.
One thing that I found interesting was that as part of the introductory speil (in two diferent countries) I was told that salespeople are the easiest of people to make sales too. It was explained along the lines of..
They have to believe in what they do for a living, so when/if you approach someone who is in 'sales' they will be more likely than someone in an unrelated field to buy the product you are selling.
I have to admit salespeople were the only people that I really enjoyed selling products too |

| My parents thought me not to waste money. I think they might have thought the lesson too well, because I get a bad conscience whenever I spend money on something that is not strictly necessary. I guess I've got a bit of the opposite disease. Fortunately I don't feel bad about spending money on food or drinks, and therefore I enjoy shopping those kind of things. |
