I will probably have my interview next week, so I want to have all my documents in order to ship. Any preferences? Anything to beware of? Thanks. |

FedEx, UPS...something that gives you a tracking number.
Also, you might want to just keep these questions to the big EPIK thread. They'll be answered there, and the multiple posts are probably going to start annoying people. |

Thanks for the info.
Believe it or not, a discussion board filled with people who are mostly all doing this for the first time, tends to mostly be speculative. Is there a better place to ask questions where you won't get annoyed about it? |

Everyone on the board has access to that thread, many people who aren't first timers and looking to help. Having one thread keeps down clutter. I'm not annoyed, I'm just suggesting that you follow basic internet protocol, man. |

I'm not annoyed either. Seriously, where should I ask questions if no one responds on that thread? I did ask that question before I posted it in the general forum. I don't know if you have, but I have read all 20 pages of that forum to the point where my eyes were dry and red. And the only people that frequent it are people who are currently going through "EPIK 2010" as the thread denotes.
It's about an90 percent output / 10 percent input split. The only people that have any information to offer up are the people who've passed the interview, and there are only a few of them. They also don't know how to answer questions past that point i.e. : What methods are best for shipping to Korea?
I'm new to this site so I won't pretend I understand what protocol you are speaking of, so I am asking you, what is the next "appropriate" step to take based upon your or this site's conception of protocol?
Thanks. |

Someone will answer it sooner or later. Forums aren't chatrooms. There is a recruiter lurking in that thread who helps people when he has time.
As for basic rules on internet forum usage, since you're new to this, check out this handy video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9q2jNjOPdk |

Okay...I definitely agree that it is better to post in an existing thread than to create a new one. As I said, I already had searched through the entire forum for the answer to my question and I did provide enough information as per your request, so we can strike that point. Forums aren't chatrooms...yes, I think that's pretty clear. However, when you don't get a response within 48 hours and it is a time-sensitive issue, I don't think it makes the individual inappropriate to post on a broader board. On every other issue I agree with you, but I think going with the general sensibility (or lack thereof) of a forum, there are always exceptions to the rule, and I think leeway can be allowed for certain exceptions aside from vulgarity, general disrespect and repeated offenses. That said, I will definitely try to wait a few more days and more intermittently stagger my responses before posting in the "Korea Job-Related Forum." |

OP:
Before your thread gets locked for getting off-topic.
The best way to ship depends on YOU.
FEDEX, DHL or UPS are all fine (albeit a bit expensive).
USPS priority mail envelope is 1/2 the price, trackable and just as fast.
Just regular airmail only takes 1-2 days more and costs next to nothing compared to the others.
If you are sending your originals of your degree then one of the trackable choices may put your mind at ease.
If you are just using apostilled copies, then 1st class airmail works just fine and doesn't take any longer to get buried in the appropriate in-pile on their desk than using a $50 delivery service.

You know you don't have to ship anything.
If you have your passport scanned, and a copy of yoru contract on your PC, you can eletronicly sign the documents and email them back Instantly. And the scanned photos will work until you arive.
It is just nice as it is instant and saves you 50-100 dollars.
If you dont have a PC that can eletronicly sign a signature many Kinkos now have them or pc clubs. Worste case senerio go to a best buy, E sign it and email it back. Save the cash. |

AWESOME! Thanks Tompatts. Excellent info! Thanks for getting me/the thread back on course. Copying your info into a document now...
Loyfriend ...hmmm, not sure how you've applied, to what and when but EPIK now requires that you physically send a TON of stuff: apostilled diploma, two seal transcripts, apostilled background check, copy of your passport photo, and two signed letters of recommendation. Tons of fun! |

Yea, I guess EPIk is requiring more. I never needed no letters of refference. I also was in the country. So some paperwork carried over. As for transscripts and Degree they only needed to see scanned copies until you got into Korea.
Background check is the same. Most the paperwork they require is used AFTER you get here. A Signed contract and a copy of your passport are the two required things to get you from USA to Korea though.
Looks liek I better start getting letters of reference though.
Thanks |
