Idea Hey Y'all,

I'm a former video-editor living near Suwon. At this point, I'm just looking to meet some people who'd be interested in collaborating on a project or two. I recently bought a D5000 that's pretty capable of producing some aesthetically pleasing stuff and wanted to make good use of it.

General interests: documentary, short narratives, music videos.

Hope to hear from any interested parties!

Hey I checking out a position in Suwon and I'm interested in film(primarily writing). I'm not sure I'm going to accept the position but if I do I will be in touch. What do you think of Suwon by the way? Are you liking it so far?

Jinwicky, I'm researching to make a doc about teaching esl in Korea (should take about 20 days to video). Assuming all goes well there, I'll be expanding the project to include Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Maybe we can work together on a few parts. Also, I have a camera with the same Nikon/Sony sensor, so our footage would be similar. My email is [email protected]. Thanks.

I'm also a man with a movie camera (DVX100) who would like to get involved in some projects. I'm a little short on ideas these days so hoping some collaborative work gets the creative fires burning. I live on Anmyeondo but willing to travel on weekends. If anything at all gets going I'd love to hear about it.

(I actually have one vague idea of something like Koreana 101... 101 little vignettes (as short as a couple seconds long) of Korean moments, which could be observations of behavior, expat experiences, aspects of culture, historical recreations, etc.. These could be contributed by a number of filmmakers and assembled as a kind of omnibus.)

Very Happy

I've shot with that Pani several times and the footage that comes out of that thing is amazing.

Do you use an external mic (shot gun, lav, etc)?

My main camera is a 3CCD Sony (same ENG camera used by ABC News) with an anamorphic lens (not electronic masking), but I can adj. the settings a bit or use one of my other cameras so our footage would look similar.

I'd PM you and Jinwicky but I still have a few more posts before I can do that. Email or PM me and I'll send you my contact info.

Thanks.

Matt, I know several pros that use that same camera. In good light, that camera can match an F900 for DVD distro. With a pro mic and good lights/reflectors, you'd have a sweet setup.

I'm technically in Dongtan. Suwon is alright, though it's obviously not Seoul. I'm working at the same school I did last year. If by "it" you mean working in the area--simply, yes. The kids at my school are great (though the opposite could be said about certain others at my school). It has fairly easy access to decent transportation.

What kind of ideas do you have for a project? Are you already in Korea? [/quote]

I'm also interested in doing some film work here. I live in Daejeon, but I'd be willing to travel. I've got a Canon HV40, and I just started shooting a short film with a friend last weekend.

I have some more ideas for projects, but it's pretty tough to do anything that's not foreigner-based when you can't speak fluent Korean.
