Experienced musicians (bass, drums, and guitar) are looking for a singer to front a new band. Ideally you'd be experienced, and if you play an instrument that's cool too, but not really important.
We're happy playing covers to start with, and if things work out then we'd look into combining originals into the set. The main idea is to get out there and play.
We've all been playing regularly in Seoul (and all over Korea) for a few years now, so we know the local scene pretty well. We've recorded albums, played festivals, and at just about every bar in town and we're eager to continue with something new.
We'd like to reherse midweek with shows on the weekends, so preferably you'd be able to travel to Hongdae/Itaewon for rehersals. I'd say our main genre is 'rock', but our influences are wide and varied.
If you're interested drop us a line.

When I first read your post I thought it was one of my own band members posting, because we are looking for the same thing... similar music, with some added funk jams...

We've tried many strategies to find someone, and 'good' singers seem to be in short supply here. In fact, lately we can't even find one person (male/female) who can 'try' to sing or willing to join a band...

At this rate, we'll be prospecting vocalists at the local Noraebangs Shocked

Hope you guys have better luck! I've almost given up and it's getting boring just jammin' with guitar, bass, and drums...

I may be willing to do it. I fronted for a couple of my bands back home. Guess it depends on what you wanna play, but "rock" sounds promising. I also play guitar, but my setup isnt in Korea and I'm probably rusty anyway.

By "rock" what do you mean? I like traditional rock, but I am also varied in my tastes.

I am a fan of Prince, Radiohead, The Kills, The Rolling Stones, The Noisettes, Sade, T-Rex, The Clash, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Black Skirts (Korean band) and old school hip-hop. I also like Spanish rock and French soul music.

I love music, so even if I don't join you all, I'd be interested in hearing what you play.

I'm a girl, located just outside Seoul and usually sing in English, Spanish and French. I sound a little like the vocalist-bassist of The Noisettes.

I was thinking about the two posts stating how hard it is to find a singer and I thought:

Why don't you get a Korean who can sing? I have met a ton who had excellent voices...

I can't PM yet, haven't posted enough.

Both you guys ( cbinseoul and cartman ) are free to drop me a line- maybe we'll fit together. I've done a lot of other musical stuff (musical theater mostly); never been in a rock band, but it's something I'm hoping to do while in Korea.

I play guitar badly and bass a bit worse. Both are a heck of a lot of fun, though.

I'm into rock of all shapes and sizes- what does rock mean to you?

Best,
Justin [email protected]

Hi!

I don't know if your offer is still on, but I'm currently looking for a rock band in Seoul (I live in Hongdae). I used to be in a band in France for 4 years, and then had some experience in Japan.
I usually write my own lyrics... and I can sing in english, french, japanese and korean. (by the way, I'm a girl... don't know if that's ok for you! ^^)

Anyway, if you are interested, contact me!
