Just a question to you all. Today was my first day back to school and I got a special gift. I have no heat in my classroom. I reported this to my co-teacher at 945am who called the VP. The Vp said,"oh no not broken it just takes a while to get warm." So, I waited and waited. 2 hours later, I told my co teacher again, "my heat is not working." This time the VP said she will call someone to come and look at it. Again I waited and waited. Mind you the whole time students sat freezing in my classroom unable to pay any attention. No shoes, no coats while we sat huddled around our little space heater. Fast forward to 315pm, I finish at 330pm. The lunch guy, yes the lunch guy comes to my room. The only teachers in the whole school are me and my co teacher. This man was so busy today, it took 6 hours for him to make it to my room. So the lunch guy opens the heater screen, claims by cleaning it off the heat will magically begin to fill the room. This didn't help of course. So 10 minutes before I was to leave for the day, he rolled in another space heater for me.
How much should I complain. I have never sat in such anger waiting for a lunch guy to bring me a glorified blow dryer. My company called and fed me the, "well the school is trying to fix it and well maybe it will be okay." I don't feel as if the VP is very worried about my problem and since school doesn't start up again for a few weeks there is no need to rush on this matter.
Sorry for being long winded. What would you guys do?

If you don't work for the school, then I would have walked all the students to the warmest room in the school, be it the teachers office or the principal's room, sat them down and did my best to proceed with the lesson. If they complained, say fine, and send the kids home.

I you do work for the school directly, I would have given them about an hour to solve the problem before I told the kids to go home because I'm going home too. See ya tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow.

Maybe they turned it off in the main office. There is a master climate control panel.

My school constantly does this sort of thing to save money.

I had no heat in my classroom today either. When my co-teacher asked about it they told us we will have to wait until next week. I think the only warm room in the school right now is the administration office.

We can complain as loudly as we want and they don't seem to care.

I usually just dress like I'm going snowboarding for these winter camps. 3 years and 3 freezing iceboxes.

i called my manager every day. finally they hired a wizard to come and perform some magic tricks. once regular school was about to start up again and mothers were in the school cleaning the heat worked again. i still use it to complain about things to my company and actually they havent bothered me much about anything since.
