I would like to know if any expats here in Korea have learned how to make a business website while in Korea, for example. My goal is to make a business website on my own, aiming for both korean and expat customers but not sure what programs if any are offered in Korean universities in English or to learn it online by enrolling in a program at a certain university.
I have some spare time to study so wondering if any expats have done a similar thing and would know how to go about this.
Thanks for any help/tips in advance.

I used this. It's amazing.
moonfruit.com
Learning to build a site on your own from scratch means learning Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrater, Principles of Design, etc. In my opinion, and I've done it, it's not worth the hassle unless you plan on working as a designer.
With the options and tools Moonfruit has, you can totally customize a site without becoming an expert designer.
If you do want to learn the above mentioned Adobe products, use lynda.com. Or, if you're not into the whole paying thing, you can download their instructional videos from the nice folks at thepiratebay.org.
Good Luck! |

have a look at weebly.com it's gives you a set of templates and you drag and drop all the things you want on your page - really really easy to use. |

Hey, I am a web designer and graphic designer. You can learn how to design a basic website with youtube. Or you can use something like www.wix.com |

youre in way over your head. it takes a long time to be proficient in learning website creation/databse management, security, crm (customer relationship management). on top of that design (photoshop and such). uness you have someone to design and you to code. you better have an art background.
i am very good at programming, but when it comes to graphic design i suck.
truth is, hire some dude in india to make your page. it will be excellent and cheap. |

If you want to make a good site I recommend learning PHP and SQL. It all depends if this site will be your baby or just something for a side income/project. If it is the later just pay someone else to do it. |

I dont think you're in over your head... if you have some basic understanding of programming languages. I just made a site for my students. They can register, log in and download stuff. I knew nothing of php going in and little html. If you have time and patience, you just need to sit down and play with it untill it works. Also like someone wlse said you will want to start off with some sort of template and go from there. Have fun |
