I may well get ripped apart on Dave's for this one but here goes.....
lately my gf has been saying that the recent weather has been getting her down a bit, and that she would really like some sunshine.
Unfortunately, I am neither able to part the heavens nor afford to fly her to sunnier climes, but I thought I might try and cheer her up a bit this weekend.
Anyone know any buildings in Seoul that are really bright and airy inside? Back home we have botanical gardens that are both warm and bright...anything similar in Seoul? |

This is the probably a reason there seems to be so many miserable people in the UK (winter lasts from October-August).
It's also on my moving to Korea negative list.
Anyway, good luck sunshine! |

Saturday is supposed to be really nice. Take her to the Sky Art in the 63 building and check out all of Seoul. Seoul tower is also a winner or if you've got the money go eat at the Restaurant in Jong-no tower. OR better yet, go climb a mountain on Saturday |

Vitamin D supplement. Pure and simple.
What nutrient are you missing when there is no sun? It's D. |

Keep all your lights on in your apartment. Walk around outside during lunch hour and after school. In fact, stay outside as much as possible during daylight hours.
SAD is a bummer. Scandavians (and Russians) really suffer from this - and their remedy is to be drunk off their asss all day - for months. But that doesn't work - as alcohol just makes you feel sadder the next day - so many Europeans live in Thailand during the European winter.
If your girl starts to get really depressed - leave Korea. |

The dark winter weather gets me down too. I don't think Davers will criticize you for this. But it's odd that you're reporting this when it's late April and there's spring sunshine!
I have to force myself to go outside and get exercise. Go to a park. Make the most of what sun there is by getting up earlier. Have lots of lights on inside and sun lamps if possible. Try the Vitamin D.
I have a big poster of a beach picture I took in my office, with lots of yellows and light blues. It's silly but it makes me feel better. |
