Does anyone have a good reccomendation for a location on the eastern side of Korea near the beach that would make a good weekend trip from Seoul?
Thanks |

Take the train out to Gangneung, and a bus/taxi to Gyungpodae or Sok-cho. There are plenty of cheap motels along the beach, a handful of decent restaurants, etc.
Not much in the way of nightlife, but it's a great weekend getaway for couples or a group of friends. |

The most difficult thing will be getting there. Most cheap motels will charge 30 000 Sam man won a night.
If you like Sashimi they have a great outdoor market where you haggle the price. |

Just south of Sokcho is Naksansa, a pretty cool temple, and nearby is a beach with a nice little minbak/cheap hotel village. Can even duck out to Seoraksan for a little walk too. |
