I lived in GJ for sixteen years, having first lived there for a year several years prior (my wife and I still own a place there). Where to go and what to eat will depend a lot upon the person. If you are into history and scenery, there are many places around the city to go; however, if you are looking for a busy social scene and night life, it would be best to take a train or bus once in a while to a nearby large city, such as Daegu, Busan, or Ulsan. For food, there are many Korean-style restaurants, but not too many Western-style; aside from a McD's downtown, you can get some Western food at the Bomun Resort area, but it's generally not cheap.

There are a few people on this board who are currently living there and can give you some more up-to-date info. Good luck and enjoy your time there.

I haven't lived there, but have been there been times. It's a great city and probably near the top of my list of places to seek work after finishing my MA. Enjoy!

So what about exchanging money?
Where is the best place to do it? Would it be easier to wait until I get there or exchange it at the airport?
Thanks
