Has anyone been to or heard anything about New York Wholistic care in Itaewon? It's a clinic with a chiropractor and pilates and other treatmetnts.
Any info, especially about prices per session would be useful! Thanks |

I've recently changed over to New York Wholistic from Create Wellness (across the street). I like NYW a lot better. Dr. Jong is very good, familiar with many adjustment techniques.
The trade-off is it costs more than Create Wellness (69,000 won per visit versus 48,000 won). But I think it's worrth it as some of my adjustments are diificult to perform.
NYW offers yoga, pilates, and massage. I haven't tried these services yet, but will be trying massage and pilates within a few weeks.
Create Wellness offers massage, pilates, and yoga, too, I believe. But, again, I can't really compare between the two clinics. I think Create Wellness might have had more types of massage available.
I think, though, that Dr. Jong (NYW) does more to suggest what to do along with chiropractic, like depending on your condition, he may suggest pilates or he may suggest yoga. And he'll have reasons why he suggests these for you. At Create Wellness, you're kind of on your own as to whether or not to take up pilates, yoga, etc.
So, I like that about NYW. Dr. Jong is more active about utilizing multiple approaches to maintaining your health.
Anyway, that's my two cents. It seems I've answered this post late, but hopefully it's helpful to someone.
Create Wellness is a good clinic, too. And if cost is an issue and the adjustments work for you, certainaly I recommend them, too. I saw Dr. Will at Create Wellness. |

I can't vouch for NYW because I've never been. But I went to CW for about a year or more. I can't say if it's "better or worse", but I'll give you some info on it.
My first visit was good. I used to see Saun, but he isn't there any more. I think he's at another place now. But I told him about the wicked headaches I get in my neck and my terrible posture and he gave me some exercises to do and told me about the specific adjustment I'd be getting when I come in (about every two weeks.) Price was 48,000 per visit. However, if you bought ten visits up front, it worked out to be 36,000 per. I wish I had done that in retrospect, but oh well.
After Saun left, I started seeing Will. He's a good guy. He always remembered me and the type of adjustment I needed. I liked to way his adjustment felt during. I mean, he was a lot more "firm" I guess when he's twist my neck and crack my back, he did it really aggressively. I liked the way that felt, because my neck is always so tense. My favorite is when I'd lay on my back reclined in the chair and he gets behind your head, and pulls you head to stretch the neck. OMG that feels so good.
But with Saun, his adjustments were "softer" I guess. I didn't crack near as hard during the adjustment. But then after, usually as I got on the train to leave or a cab to go home, it's like I could feels the adjustment "resonate" off my spine and especially in my neck. Imagine feeling your muscles move like the ripples in a pond form throwing a stone. My whole neck and back just seemed to "pulse" for a little while after. It felt so good.
I plan to try NYW when I get back to Korea in a few weeks just to see the difference. Some people say chiros are "quack" medicine and they're not really doing anything. But I can speak from personal experience. I get terrible headaches and migrains. It runs in my family. The only way to fight them off is to take this super expensive over the counter medicine I get shipped from home. A few bottles cost a near fortune. But as long as I get an adjustment every 2 or 3 weeks and treat myself to a hard massage about once a month or so, I don't get the headaches. So, it works for me. |
