Spent some time in The P.I. and had the same thing done; included in the pedicure and manicure was a 3 hour body and foot massage, feet scrub, etc...(nothing sexual about it or included) face cleaning...spent 5 hours..total cost...15 bucks! I went back a few more times during the week I was their minus having the pedicure and manicure done again! That was the best money I have spent....
One does not have to be gay to have a pedicure and manicure! |

I haven't been able to find a pedicure where they soak your feet for 20 minutes first in Korea. Any recommendations? I used to go every Saturday back in the states, but now I only go every other week, as it isn't as enjoyable, and I skip polish anyway.
I'm in Incheon, but would be willing to travel to Seoul to treat my feet. Longer massage/salt scrub is also coveted. |

It's their job. They deal with nasty feet all the time. Just buy your own clippers, file, callus buffer, and cuticle trimmer, and sterilize them each time after you go. Sharing spreads ickiness that can take an age to get rid of. Ever see a fungus-infected nail? That stuff takes forever to get rid of, but no time to catch. It's the same fungus as athlete's foot, but it gets under the nail. Take precautions, or at least soak your feet in vinegar for 20 minutes after you get your pedicure if you don't want to buy the tools.
It may sound a tad anal retentive, but I had to cure my feet after picking something up at a pedi place back home, and ever since, have brought my own stuff, and my feet have been fine. |

I usually like getting my nails done, and I try not to think about the hygienic conditions, but last time I went I noticed the girl sanitized the cutters with a spray of a supposed 'sanitizer'. It wasn't industrial strength or anything either, just a little cute pink bottle. I haven't been back again since.
I'm too scared now! Ignorance is bliss? |

Just bring your own stuff. It doesn't cost a fortune, and you'll have no need to worry. I also recommend not wearing any polish here. If you do happen to catch something, you won't notice right away under the color...
Natural is gorgeous, anyway, as long as you've got your cuticles done and a nice buffing on the sole of your foot. I can't wait to have a couple of pedis done next month back home during home leave. I'll have to bring a gift for my Korean manicurist (again, no polish, but this is only because I prefer it to look good for longer). |
