A friend of mine has been posting pictures of pizza she's been eating. Man, it looks great. Is there anywhere in Korea I can get Chicago style pizza?

I am Chicago born and raised, and the only place I've been to that approaches is the Uno's in COEX by Samseong station. It's not Art of Pizza, but it suffices.

I like Papa John's pizza the best but there is no branch of that chain near me.

Yeah, Uno's is the closest I've found.

Unos it'll be. I'll be in Seoul this weekend.

Korea's not a great place for pizza lovers. Your best bet is shooting for what you would consider only average pizza back home and contenting yourself with that. As such, the best widely available pizza can be found at Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Papa John's, and Costco cafeteria or take&bake. And aside from Costco, you'll pay an arm, leg, and possibly first-born child for a slice or 8.

Trust me, I know Korea pizza. That's why I was asking if there was something nicer in Seoul. Although Busan might have some.

It's not that I don't like kimchi pizza, it's just a strong craving for Chicago style. I'll be back in August.

I am from NY, and call me crazy but I think Pizza Mall has the best cheap pizza in Korea. You can get a large for 10,000 and it's actually quite decent when compared to pizza back home.

Other than that I don't think any of the pizza is really worth it. I am a not a chain pizza person and certainly not a gourmet pizza person.

Cheap pizza is easy to find down here in the sticks. I don't think I've tried "Pizza Mall". Not sure if there is one here but I don't scout out the pizza places.

Still, I'll be going to Unos this weekend.

Yeah UNO is your best bet for Chicago deep dish. I don't buy the "Korea's not good for pizza lovers" bit at all. I find plenty of great pizza here.

Tell me what you consider great pizza. It helps to know. For some people, Taco Bell is kick-ass Mexican food. If you love Little Caesers then I can take your opinion with a grain of salt. That sounds pretty hoighty toighty but it's not meant to. Sorry about that.

Being from Chicago I will tell you that those Uno joints don't even come close to the quality you get back in Chicago.

Uno's is okay, but if you are looking for good pizza go to Itawon. Hollywoods has great pizza. Same side as the Hamilton Hotel away from the base. Third floor.
