|
|
hello friends! i plan on taking the beginner level of the TOPIK in mid sept (registration will be july) and am wondering if there is anyone else out there planning to do the same. i'd love to have a study buddy/small study group and meet occasionally to work together and cheer each other on....
also, if anyone has good prep books to recommend (i have a korean teacher, so the books would be supplementary). i know there are a bunch at kyobo but i live closer to the branch that's closed til aug, so it's more convenient if order them online. the one that i found on gmarket - the complete guide to the topik - i've already ordered...
much thanks in advance! |

| Hey, I am also going to be taking the beginner level TOPIK in September. The Kyobo in Gangnam has a load of TOPIK books and is worth checking out. Instead of using a book, I'm just working my way through past papers and going over my mistakes with my tutor. |

Try youngdupo's mall (near the station). There is a large section of TOPIK study books, that begin at 2급. The books are basically copies of the test from the past 5 years or so.
good luck |

All the tests are online on the TOPIK website, so seems like a waste of money to do that. |

September? I can't find the dates on the website. Can you post a link to show when they are?
Also, what's the difference between TOPIK and KLPT? |

| I have read in the newspaper that due to the popularity of the TOPIK, it will be offered 4 times a year instead of the twice it has been. Starting this year. |

I guess it's not on their website yet. Thanks for the info.
Lazy me, I missed the date for registration and was really kicking myself over it. I'll be sure to register for September (for Beginner levels, hoping to score a Level 2 but we'll see...). |

yeah i'm in the opposite part of seoul from gangnam, so it's just easier for me to buy books online with the help of my coteacher and korean teacher.
jonpurdy and morrisonhotel, how often are you in seoul proper? i'm super busy for the next month or so, but i'd be down with getting together during the summer for some study/vocab sessions.... ulsan's pretty far though...
jonpurdy, there are a bunch of threads about the 2 tests on the message boards...it seems as if the topik has more books and is more well known. i asked my korean teacher and she said topik is the way to go. some people take both. |
