Kind of comes with the territory when living in officetels in a good location. It was an interesting way to spend an hour drinking beer before a night out. Could sit and watch the ho's one after the other strutting out the door talking on their mobiles and getting into ajosshi cars. Could hear them staggering home at 3ish with a click clack click clack. Had a nice pad but the neighbours sucked big time. Had to move in the end to a villa, now I sleep like a baby.

I put up with this kind of thing. Not only did I get the clickety clack heel treatment, but the 'girls' next door to my place thought it would be charming to groan 'helloooooo!' and KICK my door. They were drunk every single night.

They woke me up at the same time every night. 4:30 am. You could set your watch to it.

One night, I had enough. I set a glass of water by the door, and went to sleep. Sure enough, the kicking and the whining continued that night.
I got up, went to the door, opened the door and threw the glass of water in one of the girl's faces.
The look on her face, as her layers of makeup began to run, was priceless. I slammed the door and went back to bed in silence.

Until the police showed up.

Dude! Tell us the rest of the story!

Not much more to tell.
They knocked on my door, and I being less than 3 months in country, hesitated to open it for them.

A few seconds later, after announcing who they were, one of the girls came out. I assume she told them it was a mistake, and that everything was ok, because they grumbled and left.

I will never forget the look on her face for that split second my door was open, an they never kicked it again.
About a month later, either their pimp, or a jealous boyfriend literally just about knocked down their own door. There were 2-3cm deep dents in it and the handle was on an angle.

Crescent,

You had balls of steel to do that. A lot of Korean whores have some access to muscle and can simply lie to one of their pimps or regulars who will pimpslap the modedit out of you just for being some foreign guy that apparently did harm.

I am actually worried about this living situation expressed by the OP. I'll be moving into an officetel near samseong and I've already looked at a few places that had whores for neighbors. Before anyone berates me for assuming they are prostitutes my Korean friends that are helping me find a place were the ones that told me this and to probably expect noise and maybe even a fight or two. I want to be close to work but I'm not sure if the sacrifice is worth it.

I was thinking along these lines. A nice glass/bottle/jug of ice water...

*evil grin*

Your solution is simple: The next time they pass by being loud, strip down naked and run out to meet them. Do a little belly dance, giggle like a school girl, then flee.

When back in your apartment, get dressed and call the police for the huge amount of noise the bemused women will no doubt be making.

I am a reservoir of strategic brilliance Cool

Do what I did. Call the cops with a noise complaint.

If that doesn't work, complain to your employer or whoever leased you the apartment. Koreans hate dealing with complaints from foreigners. It stresses them out.

After bitching enough, the landlord of my building threw my neighbor out.

Mission accomplished.
