has anyone recent experience of this?
i've been told explicitly not to use the royal mail, and instead fed-ex, UPS or DHL.
i was wondering what the difference was between them, if any.
i figure it'll cost twenty to thirty quid i guess..
do you have to go in person to the office?

i don't know if this is the same thing but we just sent all our EPIK documents from the UK to korea via UPS, it was 45. We went into a local office but you can arrange a pick up online for all of the services i think or ring them and they can collect the parcel off you. We didn't use royal mail because i think it only tracks the package until it gets to korea, once its in the country they aren't responsible for it. With ups we were able to track ours online and see everywhere it went. and it only took 2/3 days.

You should go for the cheapest one that your recruiter/employer will accept. That's what I'll be doing.

DHL is extraordinary. My documents have gone from Dublin to Hong Kong in 26 hours. I expect my recruiter to have them tomorrow. I couldn't be happier with the service.

Did anyone send theirs by normal Royal mail recently? A friend in England did so last Thursday - wondering how long it's gonna take! I wouldn't have trusted this method myself as you get no tracking number and it's so easily lost track of I fear...

I had a letter sent out to me a few weeks back using Royal Mail's international airfare service. Took 5 days.

MorrisonHotel - that's reassuring... but maybe that was pre-volcano?

For my first E-2, I was told the same; Don't send your documents via Royal Mail...

Anyway, I was skint and weighed up the 45 for DHL/Fedex against the 5-6 it cost for Royal Mail to send it special/signed for delivery. The latter got there in 6 working days...

Your choice...it paid off for me.

the docs arrived in 6 working days royal mail - bit of a gamble, which this time paid off.
