It seems, in this world of cellphones, that "to text" has become a verb. I've no problem with that. English is a growing language.
The problem is how to say the past tense of this new verb.
"Texted" sounds weird. It doesn't roll off the tounge.
e.g.
"I texted her last week but got no reply". Doesn't work, does it.
Is there an irregular spelling? |

Maybe my friends and I are dyslexic when it comes to using appropriate english, but we used texted as the past tense form |

Usually I say "I sent them a text"
.. on the rare occasion, I do say "I texted him" and I think it sounds awkward every time... |

You could also say, "I will SMS" you. |
