Not a rant at all, I was lying, but I am paying, according to my first pay deduction slip, 40,000 ish per month.

I'd be ok with this if it was the super fast internet Korea advertises but I went on the speedtest website and it's at 8mb. Which is less than many parts of England (Although the best I ever got in England was about 0.7mb.

Youtube still needs waiting on (I hear youtube is slow for everyone? or at best just 'fine') webpages still take actual time to load, uploading and downloading is meh.

Perhaps I can get my boss to cancel it and there will be a faster one for less money out there? or is it a local thing, and it's only inside of Seoul that has great internet (I'm in Anyang, right next to Seoul)

It might be because you're connecting to servers on the other side of the Earth. You can have a fast internet connection, but if it's connecting to something very far away, or through a lot of other servers, it can still be slow. Try a speed test with a korean server and see if it's faster.

Thats a good idea but doesn't that then mean I have to use all Korean sites like Koreatube.com or something? I'm learning the language but I ain't that good yet.

The internet I can steal is far slower and barely reachable.. =( I would otherwise.

KT charge about KRW36,000 for their 8mb connection, so you're paying about the right price. Get the Qook TV and internet upgrade for KRW51,000 a month, which gives you 40-50mb connection.

LOL @ KT then. I get charged 35k won per month by SK for the 100mb connection. I typically download well-seeded torrents at around 5-10mbps, same goes for MegaUpload. I've also hit 22.5mbps on Apple trailers.

How did you work out the speed of the apple trailer? mine finishes before the speed shows, it takes less than a second for a 100mb file to download Shocked Laughing

My 100Mb line is 40K a month. They put up the price, it used to be 35K. Still an amazing deal. It's that much for I don't know what crappy speed, in NZ, and it's capped at 5GB Shocked

Speedtest is garbage right now. They have no servers in Korea. The undersea cables will cause major issues in getting any kind of accurate measurement.

Do this in IE, it is in Korea.

It's also in Korean *struggles around*

So you people who have 17,000 Exabytes per parsecond (Kudos to those who spot the mistake), Is this purely IN Seoul or can I acquire it in Anyang too?

I don't have time to be visiting 'other' forums.

Looks like I could get faster though, how much are you paying for you 11mb/s?
Reading that other page provided It's probably a year contract here *rubs chin*. Wouldn't want to change it. Perhaps do the upgrade. Still only 30 a month...

You may also want to check that your tubes are not clogged. It's not just some truck that you can dump things on, you know.
