I wasn't sure how to work this in the title, but I would like to leave my current school and work somewhere else.
I know that if you renew with your school you don't need to do a CBC, have transcripts, etc. to renew your E-2 visa.
But what happens if you switch schools? Does the process (transcripts, CBC, diploma, etc.) begin all over again, or is it much simpler?
Thank you in advance.
ETA: Searching Dave's again I came across a comment that said if you turn in the documents before your E-2 visa is up, you don't have to do the CBC or anything like that again. Is this true?

IF you can obtain a letter of release (LOR) from your current employer (his blessing that you are leaving) then you CAN effectively transfer your visa to a new employer/sponsor.
If you cannot obtain a LOR (they are not obligated to give you one) from your current employer then you start all over again with a full set of documents and a new visa application.

That's retarded. So basically if your current employer is a jerk then all of your previously submitted documents are suspect, and you must re-submit them, but if (s)he is nice then everythings just dandy, more proof that Korean immigration is clueless... |

The LOR is only if you are leaving before your contract is up.
If you complete your contract, but want to get a new job, you need to start all over again. Horray! |

It's just annoying to have to start all over. (leaving at the end of the contract for another place). What exactly do they need to prove? That my diploma is actually still valid?
Whatevs, I like Korea and the people, so I do what I have to, however nonsensical it seems to me at the moment.
