Well, after 3 and a half long years in Busan, i'm finally stepping up to the big leagues ^^* and moving to Seoul. Going to be arriving in Gangnam-Gu on May8th. Anyone have any advice for things to see/do, places to visit? Not too touristy please, got all that out of my system my 1st year here!
Many thanks. |

Not really a helpful reply, but could I ask why you are making the switch? I'm considering making the reverse decision after two years just outside Seoul. |

I would expect more institutionalized school work culture with many more formalities. It seems bigger city and bigger school=more BS stresses to funk through vs. a casual small school where people might be more themselves and show consideration for one another. This is probably true anywhere you go as is the case with jobs back home. You can't say NO on anything rudely demanded of you if working in a toxic work culture boiler room sales/brokerage office in the big apple, but you can say NO if in an average place not so boiler roomish where it's less likely you'll be jerked around.
Have you seen that big golden statue of that renaissance man with his inventions of a sundial, rain gauge, Hangulmal, and a star charting orb in Seoul? Just kidding. That's one of the main tourists sites I'm sure you've seen.
Ride the subway lines out to the outter limits, randomly come up out of an exit, and walk around just to see what the heck is out there in all those places with strange names where the streets have no name? |

Actually it's not really my idea - my wife is from Busan and her family is here - she spent time after Uni in Seoul, her friends are there - she likes her friends better than her family^^* So, she wants to be further away from boring family stuff and closer to her friends. I want to move as I miss seeing live music - not a fan of rock music, but decent electro/IDM which can not be found in Busan. Although I do love Busan. |

Yeah I am expecting this. Been through enough bs in Busan to be somewhat prepared, even if Seoul throws the big guns in my face.^^*
I also want to study more - Seoul has CELTA which i've applied to. |
