Hello out there,

I'm looking to open .hwp files in either Word or Adobe Reader. Is there a plug-in I can download, or even a free reader online?

There is one and only one program now that you can use to modify HWP files. Yep, it's that awful Hangul Word program. But you can download a free HWP reader from hamcom's site. Scroll down to the bottom click on "English Version."

You can only view the files with that program. There is no option to "save as" in any other format. It's a viewer and that's all it is. If you need to modify documents your coteachers are preparing in HWP, ask them to save the files as either MS Word doc or RTF. You can then use OpenOffice Writer to open and modify it. I'm running two versions of OpenOffice at work; one's in English and the other's in Korean.
