Was just watching CNN and they were reporting on how Shanghai is preparing for their World Expo.
The thing that caught my ear was how they are trying to educate the population (or change their mannerism might be a better expression) on how they act in public when the Expo begins.
To get to the point was how the local population get on and off their subway system. They actually have people employed to make people stand to the side to let people off the subway first instead of rushing on first (what an intelligent Idea). And the other thing was spitting in public, on the side walk, stairs, etc.
There is a huge campain to change how the locals act in public as Shanghai will be shown to the world and they want to be a part of that economic community.
So I ask, during the Seoul Olympics and World cup, were there similar programs installed?
If there was, it obviously lasted as long as the respective events. |
