|

Friends:
In speaking with my POE and recruiter, it seems that "renewing" is slightly different than I initially understood when I took the job. Renewing only includes staying in your province (my case--Chungbuk), and not simply staying with EPIK. Thus, should I choose to work in Busan or Incheon next year, I will not receive any of the renewal benefits, as it is not "renewing". I should, though, get the end of contract benefits (exit allowance, severance pay).
What I wonder is what happens to the 10-day vacation we would get at the end of the contract. There's a similar (yet different) thread discussing people who missed, etc. If you re-apply and go to a different province, do you have to re-take orientation? Do you work until Feb. 26 (when the contract is up) and then just move to Busan to start work March 1?
Can anyone shed some light on what those two weeks are that are the "vacation" for renewals?
Thanks in advance. |

If you change provinces between public school contracts, it isnt considered renewing. So yes, you lose the home leave benefit. & likely yes, they'll require you to do another orientation. |

You are not re-applying if you're applying to another province. You are actually starting everything all over again as though you are a newb. However, you will be credited a year of service toward your level increase. |
