My school is pretty strict when it comes to the "school may be closed but it's not a national holiday so you have to come in" rule, so I'm thankful that my KT advised that I save 2 vacation days when I booked my winter holiday.

My school's closed Mon-Wed next week, and I would have had to come in on Monday and Tuesday, with Wednesday off (national holiday), but now I can have a lovely long weekend.

It's a shame they can't lighten up the rules a little, but even if I had to come in, I'm months ahead on lesson planning, so would have probably read the news, played scrabble, and doodled while watching movies on my laptop.

Wahoo!

If you've got a long weekend, either this or next, what are you going to do with it? I'm undecided, as of yet.

I will be packing my suitcases and my carry-on, and leaving the country. I don't intend to come back.

I've also got a five day weekend. But I don't have to use any vacation days for it, I just had to write a paper because the Principal is using her special days to give us monday and tuesday off. So what will I do with my time? Good grief. I don't even know. Probably sleep a lot, spend a lot of time outdoors (weather permitting) and get cracking on my studying of Korean.

I miss my previous principal. He spoke fairly decent English and would have approved time off in a heartbeat.

This one sticks to every silly rule. I'm glad I saved the 2 days, though. Besides, we have sick days Smile

I have the Thursday and Friday following Children's day off.

My tentative plans will be to leave on Tuesday to visit a friend down south. Return to Seoul Wednesday night. On Thursday I may go wind surfing on the Han. Friday, I'll be heading to Ansan Asia Town and stuff my face with as much food as possible. Not sure about Sat/Sun yet.

I'd say you are lucky if you get a long weekend. We have mid term exam on Tuesday. Despite not getting a long weekend, I'm looking forward to an easy week ahead.

My school has the Wednesday off, but most of the teachers also get Thursday. I'm the loner who has to come in. I'm thinking of just using a sick day.

The students all have exams on Monday. I still have to come in, but I'm already excited about all the writing I'm going to do.

Tuesday I have an open class. I guess I'm getting evaluated. Hopefully I can do a good job on that. I might spend some time on Monday making final changes to the lesson plan.
