Im being told by my recruiter to send in all the documents in now regardless of whether they have made their decision or not. I have an issue with this because said documents cost about 64GBP to be apostilled correctly and a further 50GBP to send by DHL / FedEx. That's 114GBP before I have even been confirmed.

Damn the mailed apostilled documents. I've never done this before. Does this pretty much mean there is a position for you, or that there's still plenty good chance you could be cut?

Where is everyone else at in this process?

You should definitely get your stuff apostilled now if you haven't already, but I think the recruiter is assuming that even if you don't get accepted with epik then you will use him/her to get another job in korea, in which case I would say send them in. I assume you will be sending your documents to your recruiter and not direct to epik?

Edit: Neville makes me sick too

That is what i am thinking too. I am technically applying with SMOE first too so it may take a little while longer then with general EPIK applicants.

I already have my CRB and degree copy with me just the apostilling is required now. I have experience and certification as well.

I passed the interview, I think my documents will reach S.Korea 7-10 May.

Do you guys think that Busan will be filled to the brim already?

Hi, I picked Busan as well and my documents will reach them around May 4. I'm not getting my hopes up. Busan seems to be one of the more popular destinations. Did you say you would only consider metro locations or did you say you had no preference? I intitially said metro only, but my EPIK interviewer told me I should change it to no preference to increase the possibility of being placed in Busan. I'm not really sure what my preference would be. I like the idea of living in Daegu just as well.

Can't wait to see the contract, should they decide to offer me one.

Ah, so Busan was your first choice and Daegu your second?

Yes, I also initially picked Metro and I also chose "No" for "Are you willing to work anywhere in Korea?". But then my recruiter changed it for me and told me to print it out again and send it to them... = ="

Actually I didn't pick Busan or Daegu at all, I picked Daejeon.

Ahhhh... Actually, I ticked 'metro only' but for 'will you work anywhere in Korea' I ticked yes. I.. ermm. I'm pretty sure I forgot to change it when i sent my form in though, so it still says metro only. I am an idiot. I'm hoping the 'yes I will work anywhere in Korea' will count in my favour.

Maybe this is good, though, as it may mean I'll end up in metro Daegu Smile though I have heard that if you're placed somewhere SEMI rural the school can be a bit more relaxed and you can still get to the city in an hour or so.

So then what were your 5 choices for placement? All metros?

Yes, all metro in this order: Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, Gwangju, Daejeon.

I think I really would prefer a metro city, even if it is Daejeon.

What were your preferences?

You didn't pick Incheon? That's surprising.

I picked Daejeon, Gyeonggi and Chungbuk. Gyeonggi cos it's close to Seoul (though I hope I don't get it) and Chungbuk cos it's close to Daejeon (I also hope I don't get it).

Hahaha that's funny. I thought about Incheon. I think it's too close to Seoul for me. Nothing wrong with Seoul, but if I wanted to live there I would have tried to get in there.

Would you like to find me on facebook? my email address should be on my profile here.

i'm joining in with the neville makes me sick too thing. one of my happiest moments was when i was at a spurs/man u match years and years ago (yeah i know, i support arsenal but one of my friends was a spurs fan) and gary neville was sent off right in front of me. happy memories.

anyway, i'm nervous too about being rejected by a poe because of the terrible grades which show up on my transcripts. if you don't have anything like that, then i wouldn't worry too much about not being accepted because i doubt epik would have accepted you otherwise (obviously you need to make sure you send your documents in as soon as you're accepted). the transcripts however are the only thing that epik were unable to see before they accepted me, so that's why i'm nervous.

i'm definitely not going to buy a plane ticket until i have my contract. it's annoying because we'll be flying out at peak time and therefore flights will be mega expensive, especially if we're not booking loads in advance but i think it's just too risky to book before then.

i chose busan, daegu, incheon, gwangju, daejeon. hopefully i'll get one of those because as much as i'd like to say i'd be happy anywhere in korea, i'm much more of a city person than a countryside person.

by tone down, what do you mean? forgive me if i just asked a stupid question, i just don't know any better.

Haha it was a bit of a joke.
The Yorkshire accent is known as quite a strong and difficult one to understand.
Mine isn't particularly strong any more due to 6 years living outside Yorkshire Smile
