So I keep reading these post of I was inappropriately touched at work, or another employee stole 7,000,000 Won from me.
While I do not believe people should physically act out. These actions seem to almost warrent someone get slapped or popped in the nose.
Just want to know has anyone every gotten to the point that they just went off and smacked somebody around??

Better look up the term "blood money" and take a look at the Korean justice system and penal system before you contemplate something as stupid as committing an assault in Korea.

Even self defense is no defense and could cost you a small fortune.

There is NO justification that would legally warrant assaulting someone and it will cost YOU money if you did..

I once knew a guy who (yes, really- it was corroborated by three people) popped a man in the nose about 3 times after the guy was yelling at him to speak Korean and tried to break his glasses. The man collapsed on the subway floor with blood coming out of his nose. Everyone on the subway was petrified and the people who were part of this fracas ran like the wind when the subway stopped. Fortunately he wasn't caught but unfortunately I didn't get to see it.

Yup, that's the beauty of the legal system here. They can steal your money and never be held accountable (like my first employer who, three years later, still owes me 3.65m won), and yet if you were to take matters into your own hands YOU would be the one who had to pay.

By "take matters into your own hands" I take it you mean the use of violence? I'm not sure what else you could be implying. Yeah it's poop-like that you are owed that much money. But beating it out of him? That's just stupid.

(forgive me if I misinterpreted you)

(bolding mine).

Isn't that pretty much the legal system in most places?

Not in Deadwood. Which is the only place that I think that violence against an underpaying boss is legal.

Knowing some Korean, there have been quite a few times where some students have pushed my buttons. However, I never got to the point where I actually wanted to hurt them physically because let's face it...they're just kids. There are some adults that do deserve an a.. whooping at times though.

Actually, the system in most places is that the first crime would be prosecuted and thus the second crime would be unnecessary. My point, quite obviously, was that they can commit a crime and get away with it, whereas I would have the book thrown at me.
