You can't beat or go wrong with anything by Lee "Scratch" Perry. He has sooo many albums under his name and his band "The Upsetters" as well as producing countless other reggae (and not) albums.
He's the grandaddy of the "Dub" stream. He's worked with Bob, Mad Professor, and even produced a couple of Clash albums (Police and Thieves is actually a reggae tune the Clash popularized as a punk tune, produced by Scratch).
Here's one of my favorite tunes "Chase the Devil" he produced (I think Max Romeo originally sang it) remade by Prodigy in the 90's (I'm transcending to outta space...to find another race...I take your brain to another dimension!!!!!! )

and a remix of the same

Edit: Almost forgot my second favorite guy, Augustus Pablo. His tunes are kick-butt, too. Kinda slower, but powerful nonetheless. His melodica adds a certain flavor to the music you can't find with other folks.

And Jimmy Cliif
I like that hardcore dancehall stuff too.
If you like reggae covers of songs - try this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGU_JJroVms - theyre called the Easy Star All Stars and they do track-by-track cover versions of great albums. So far theyve done Radiodread (OK Computer), Dub Side of the Moon and Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Dub Band. I think youll like them. |

Junior Reid
I once smoked a "cigar" with him and his people. It was an awesome time. |

Yeah, I second King Tubby.
If you're ever in financial trouble and feel like you could cry your eyes out because you're stuck in a goshitel or yeogwon with noisy hooker neighbors, this song (one of my favorite in the reggae genre) should hit the right nerve:
