The link contains an explanation of gender inequality. It isn't that there has been a universal conspiracy among men throughout history to keep women down. An example:
"I suppose the stock explanation for any such difference is that women were not encouraged, or were not appreciated, or were discouraged from being creative. But I dont think this stock explanation fits the facts very well. In the 19th century in America, middle-class girls and women played piano far more than men. Yet all that piano playing failed to result in any creative output. There were no great women composers, no new directions in style of music or how to play, or anything like that. All those female pianists entertained their families and their dinner guests but did not seem motivated to create anything new.
"Meanwhile, at about the same time, black men in America created blues and then jazz, both of which changed the way the world experiences music. By any measure, those black men, mostly just emerging from slavery, were far more disadvantaged than the middle-class white women. Even getting their hands on a musical instrument must have been considerably harder. And remember, Im saying that the creative abilities are probably about equal. But somehow the men were driven to create something new, more than the women."

Q: Why did God create men?
A: Because vibrators can't mow lawns. |

Recently in the Korean news, they posted the High Schools in each of Seoul's districts who had the highest Su Nung scores.
The majority of the schools on the list were Girls High Schools. The Foreign Language High Schools topped the charts. Only 1 all boys school made the list. |

Facts?
This person seriously needs to learn some basic history, for instance, that of Fanny Mendelssohn in relation to her brother Felix. |

It's an interesting argument, but only time will tell. Using high school or even baccalaureate scores as an indicator of creative aptitude and drive is confusing creativity with essentially rule-bound, conformist educational institutes and criteria. All things being equal, I'd still say that it would be men moving and shaking, creatively speaking. Only because, and many studies support this, men are less risk averse. And a significant minority of men aren't afraid of the inevitable ostracization and negative gossip that result from paradigm shifts and intellectually bending and breaking established boundaries.

One example does not a trend make. From the Renaissance to the Romantic eras in music, male composers have vastly outnumbered the female composers. |
