Now I'm nagging. You never stated the price was fixed meaning it was up for negotiation. I asked a few questions tatertot and jsanders79 jumped on the wagon about how good the second hand price was and I asked a few more questions.

Keep the thing it doesn't even sound like you wanna sell it. It's a public board. Much like your comment of, "It's mine I will charge what I want!" I will nag as much as I want.

kimchi joe, it seems to me, you're a little jerk. you can't stay off this board and let a man make you a decent offer. i don't even know why you still have the fing lens for sale.

war - simply stated, i'm with you on this one. if someone is out trying to sell their goods, they shouldn't be damned turned off when someone else asks for a lower price.

qcat79 - it seems to me, you are trying to incite another agument on this thread with your comments. I have bought a lens off KJ before and can vouch for the fact that he's not "a little jerk".

I don't think the issue here has ever been about being offered a lower price. The issue here is with how it was done. To someone unaware of how jacked up the camera prices are here in Korea, a comment like "You can buy this in the States for (insert amount here)" could give the impression that the seller is out there to rip people off, and it could kill a potential sale. In reality, KJ's price was quite reasonable for being in Korea. I dont' think war's intention was to cause any offense to anyone, and I'm not condoning how the situation was handled, but in my opinion, if you want to offer a lower price you should just simply do so - without using the "you can buy in the States for X amount" justification. This is because 95% of the time, American prices bear no relevance on the cost of goods in Korea --- just ask anyone who has tried to buy a Harley over here.

not inciting at all.

i just don't understand why you people have to go into some long-winded explantions for your price and then whine about it when someone makes an offer.

from now on STATE YOUR PRICE AND YOUR WILLINGNESS TO NEGOTIATE.

makes sense to me.

and yes, i do agree with jsanders on the part about buying here as opposed to america. countries' exchange rates, warranties, taxes and shipping can all make the difference when buying. also it's good to look at where you intend on staying for the term of owning the item.

i'm out.

Prices on camera equipment in Korea are NOT jacked up anywhere near the amount that you guys think. Whenever I keep reading this stuff, I think, you're either really naive, or scammers. I've managed to get all of my camera stuff for the same or less of what it is sold back home. Everything else I bought new at Yongsan, and I bought one lens used from KJ. I bought it because it was a good deal. The ones that I saw listed here though, were definitely overpriced. A quick search on naver and gmarket showed me that he was selling for close to brand new pricing IN KOREA.

Oh, and every time I've sold something, I've sold it on here, to foreigners, because like I said, you all have this naive idea that things are more expensive here. I enjoy taking advantage of that.

Seriously, take everything you see for sale here with a grain of salt, 90% of the time it is overpriced, either due to greed, or just plain ignorance/naivety.

Good camera lenses usually sell used for close to their new price. They are one piece of technology that doesn't depreciate very much.
