Up for sale is a 1970 printed version of the Oxford English Dictionary + first supplement (first edition of the OED 1933, third printing). I realize that this is only going to appeal to a very small niche market... but in any case, this is the 13 volumed definitive English dictionary. I had this shipped to Korea last year - bought for $550 USD, shipping was another $150 + customs (you do the math) for my husband's birthday. My husband loves this thing to death, but we will probably be heading out at some point in the future and we'd like to lighten our load.

I believe that 650 is a very fair price for this in Korea - you virtually can't find this except in niche markets, and even if you do find it, it will be the lamer newer edition, not the awesome classic older one, and it will cost an arm and a leg - if you don't think I'm being fair, I'm open to offers.
Some things to know about the OED - this is the 13 volume first edition. The second edition, published 1989 is a (over a thousand bucks) 22 volume beast. It has a lot of new modern words in it that I don't think is all that useful (like f*** and c***), but obviously, I'm a little biased.

Some other small things I should mention. For some reason, the first volume A-B is a different printing than the rest of the volume (see picture). This does not affect the use of the dictionary in any way, but it's a little shorter than the rest of the books. The condition of these books are excellent considering their age. The binding is completely in tact, the gold embossing still has lustre, and there are no torn pages at all. As with most classics, this is something that is less likely to lose its value in a year or two and is worthy of passing down to your kids after you die (sorry for the morbidity)

Also, buying this will forever label you as geek.... but I guess if you don't mind Cool

I am NOT willing to ship this item - must be a face-to-face transaction.

Also, to the buyer who buys the OED, I will sweeten the deal and sell you my Kindle 1 (also in excellent condition) for an extra 50,000 (or 170,000 by itself).

Now low-ballers, please but I'm open to all reasonable offers.
