Anyone else as big of a baseball fan as I am? If you're not, now is a good time to become a fan. The season is early but already off to a bang.

In case you don't know, there are 8 teams. They are named after companies, not cities.

LG Twins
Doosan Bears
Nexxen Heroes
Hanwha Eagles
KIA Tigers
SK Wyverns
Lotte Giants
Samsung Lions

LG: A big improvement on last year. they signed Lee Byung Kyu, recently released from his Japanese team. He has not lived up to the hype yet. They have a strong line-up but it's not producing as of yet.

Doosan: Strong as usual but suffering from injuries. They're holding 2nd place.

Nexxen: Leading up the rear. Clearly a 'have-not' in a group of 'haves'. Good team spirit though. They lost a few great players from last season.

Hanwha: They lost 2 free agents to Japan and their remaining big slugger is injured. Thankfully a few old guys retired last year. They should be hoping for some promising rookies to rebuild the team.

KIA: Not living up to the title of 'Defending Champions'. Their big slugger is hurt but the other American reject Big Choi has hit 2 grand slams already this season. Seo Jae-Weung is playing satisfactory.

SK: Started off as 1 win and 4 losses, then won a few, then went 15 wins in a row, still going now and not showing any signs of stopping. The first few series made them look lackluster but now everyone's asking 'Can they be beaten?'

Lotte: Some of the top hitter sin the league but also some of the worst pitchers. Disappointing start to the season, but they usually heat up in late season.

Samsung: Playing quite well. Holding 3rd place.

I have never seen. I saw playoff tickets on Gmarket before.

I always just go directly there. Look for a scalper if the game is sold out.

Going to games is what I imagine baseball used to be like in the States.

They are just more fun. And, you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to go. Plus you can bring food/beer into the games.

It may help that I can walk to Munhak Stadium. Wyverns!

Caught my first game of the season for the Wyverns. A 23-3 to three blowout over the Tigers! They look real good. I took a friend -Scottish- to his first game and he sure got a clinic on how runs were score in ball.

I'm buddies with the batting coach -Jung Gyeong Bae-and he has helped me a lot with my swing this year. I play in a local league. I also teach Lee Ho Jun's son.

Hoping to catch quite a few more this year. The quality is at least on par with AAA ball in the states, is fun and cheap as chips. 7000 won to get in and able to bring in all the beer and food you want!

Go Wyverns!

정경배? I wondered what happened to him then I heard he just retired and became the batting coach.

I haven't seen 이호준 for a while now. He came back from a knee injury last year but I haven't seen him this year at all. Injured again?

I equate K baseball to American Baseball minus the huge money, greedy players and managers, and steroid scandals. Oh yeah. Better sportsmanship here too. Also the league is small enough you can follow all the teams and even travel to follow your team if you want.

Amen BoholDriver! It lacks the power and overall I'd say there is more depth, in American ball, especially in starting pitching, maybe less in the bullpens.

But I really do enjoy my Korean naseball. I was sick of ball for years, and I've fallen back in love with it thanks to Korean ball!

Gyeong Bae is doing well, he could have played a couple of years, but Jung Gun Woo is the best second baseman in the league now. He is an Incheon boy and a real classy guy, so they offered im a position in Coaching. Had him over for dinner a couple of weeks ago and spent yesterdau with his wife and son.

He gave me one of his official jersy's. If you see a foreigner with a Jung Gyeong Bae shirt on at a game, it's Riverboy.

Ho Jun, is on the down swing too, he had surgery in March and is recovered, but not getting much playing time, he is a big strong guy with a decent bat and they will need him in the long run. Possibly more in a DH position.

Best.

Yes, the SK infield is deep. 정근우 was a shortstop or 3rd baseman before, but got moved over after 나주환 and 최정 got established.

With today's win, SK is 16 wins in a row.

Heard about the new rules designed to speed up the game this year? They've widened the strike zone and created a 12-second pitch count:

Ps- Lotte 화이팅!

Yes, and they don't clean up the field in the 6-7th inning and no more 6th inning stretch.

Changeover from innings is limited to 2-3 minutes.

Last year they had wayyyyyyyy too many base on balls, too many games going until after midnight.

If Lotte could sign some really good pitcher, they could be top 4. Right now they only have 조정훈. Every other pitcher is mediocre at best. 송승준 is super overrated.

Wow the SK/Lotte game last night was whacked. The umpires decided to use the MLB infield fly rule but failed to tell any of the players or coaches.

Then in the 9th innng Lee Dae-slow got another infield fly but no auto-out. Hmmm.

I couldn't agree with Rick more! I'm a die hard Dodger fan who grew up watching games outdoors in Southern California, and it pains me to say it, but baseball is better here in Korea.

The cheerleaders--Awesome!
The guy who serves you beer from a keg on his back, for 3000 Won--Awesome!
Cheap as chips tickets--Awesome!
Bringing in a cooler with your own food and beer--Awesome!
Separating fans and turning the stadium into two competitive cheering sections--awesome!
Players who aren't treated like war heroes just because they play a sport--awesome!
I went to a Giants game in Busan. They brought the relief pitcher to the mound in a custom, convertible Mini Cooper--awesome!
The fans sing different songs for their favorite players--awesome!

I'm more about playing than watching - too bad no baseball clubs to play in that i've found so far...
