I'm moving to Korea in a couple of months and I'm wondering what sports are shown on Korean TV. I'm a big fan of football (Premiership, Champion's League) and tennis (mainly the grand slams). Will they be shown on TV or will I have to watch them on the internet? |

Interesting that there are no replies. I would also like to know if/how Western sports (American "big 4", European football) are broadcast.
I'd also like to know about pro wrestling. Is any of the Japanese stuff easily available? Mexican? American? |

Sports shown in Korea are mostly local. You get the Korean Baseball League, you get the Korean basketball league. You get the korean volleyball league. There is also quite a bit of soccer shown and though I'm not a soccer fan I think its from europe. Pro wrestling is on a lot as is MMA. Back in the day they used to air pride and k1 live for free on tv. There is some nba games shown, virtually no nfl games except the superbowl. Definately no hockey and I'm not sure about america baseball. If i had to guess I would guess that they show the top teams and maybe teams with korean players.
Basically the best way to watch sports in Korea is online. There are a bunch of topics that give sites and stuff on here. The internet in korea is lightning fast and the quality of free streams has really come a long way. |

There is a heap of EPL. Especially Bolton And Man Utd as they have Korean players. They also play AS Monaco games as a Korean plays for them. Also random games for an Italian team. Maybe Genoa or Fiorentina, I can't remember who exactly. I haven't seen a Korean guy in any of those games.
I have never seen tennis. Tennis has quite good live streaming though, I understand? Generally, I just download Match Of The Day for EPL. If you are really jonesing for your live sports, there is probably an internet option. |

they have about 3 to 4 Premier league games every week, usually Saturday night/Sunday night. They usually have a nice selection, big teams mostly with Man U seeming to be on every week(Park Ji-Sung). |

I have never seen any of the Tennis grand slams on TV here.
But I do have 3 channels of 24 hour a day European Football (Soccer). Not sure who is playing and obviously some of it must be replays. You should be fine for watching Soccer.
One NBA game a week. No US football except the Superbowl.
I just got a slingbox for watching US sports. I like it a lot so far. You might think of getting one of those and leaving it your house at home and you can watch all your local sports and TV. |

They had odd bits of Wimbledon last year...they show lots of EPL but no FA Cup (at least on the channels I get). They show the Champions League. Apart from that, there seems to be an endless amount of baseball both domestic and US...on the weekend they'll often be showing 4 different domestic baseball games across 4 different sports channels. |

No hockey? SBS Sports is airing the NHL playoffs, though the selection of games is spotty, and the NBA playoffs.
You can get many MLB games via Skylife or another cable provider if you pay extra, though baseball puts me to sleep. |

I was hoping with Shin-Soo Choo being the best player on the team, there'd be many Cleveland Indians games being played here. But whenever I browse through the channels during the game times, I find nothing
Outside of Korean sports, I've only seen a lot of soccer and WWE pro wrestling. |

I have a lot of TV channels with a few sports channels. There is tons of football on all the time, especially ManU because of JS Park. They do play a lot of the games live too. Other than that it is baseball constantly. The baseball season recently started so you can catch a game pretty much any time. |

Onlines the best option spvod.live is the best online option for free I've found. Its Chinese and you have to download the player but its all free and heaps of choices for sports. It has an English translation button at the top of the page
I've downloaded it at both the schools I work in for afternoon viewing, as well as use it at home and my local sports pub |

Yeah, online is pretty much your only way to watch what you want. Korean tv stations didn't even show the Saints/Colts SB. |

Seems that lately nearly three of my sports channels are flogged with golf. Namely KLPGA.
To get your sports fix you need to do it online. |
