Hello! I am moving to Cheongju with my boyfriend next week and was wondering if anyone could help with a couple of questions.
Coming from the UK there is a 20kg baggage allowance so I am going to have to be very picky on what I bring!
Does anyone know of anywhere near Cheongju that we can buy bedding and pillows? They are not provided, but if we bring our own it will restrict bag space even more.
Also, is sun lotion easily available? We are both fair haired and fair skinned so burn quite easily! Could bring my own, but again it adds up the weight of the case so it would rather get when there.
Thanks,
Kayleigh

Sun lotion is available but expensive. Not worth paying for extra weight in your bags. You'll have enough disposable income that you can afford to get some here.
Western style sheets are available but expensive. If you really need them and are stuck for room in your bags, mail them to yourself at your school.
Korean style sheets are a quilted thing that looks like a mattress pad. They are OK, just not what you are used to. Blankets are readily available and run from 10k-150k won (depending on what you want).

Cheongju has a HomePlus, EMart, etc... (think Walmart, but Korean). Bed sheets can be found at both. Pillows can be found easily.
If this is your first time to Korea, hold off on the sunscreen. You probably won't need it as much as you think. And if you do, as Tom said, it's available and only slightly more expensive than in the UK. |
