I hope that if they start fingerprinting etc. in Canada, that they establish SEPARATE lines at immigration, as I don't want to have to wait long in line. Last time upon entering Canada, it took over 20 mins to get through immigration because the 5--only 5!--people in front of me (prob. Koreans) had visa papers and other documents, which slowed the line down. It took about 30 seconds to process me, being a citizen.

Have you ever been to any of those cities? I've been to all, and lived in two. We don't discuss it in polite society, but Native society in Canada is utterly dysfunctional. Go for a stroll in P.A. Sask downtown. Be sure to step around and not over the sleeping junkies. But this is Canada's founding sin, and the state has a duty to them (who knows what can be done). Canada totally destroyed them.

Mostly true. I don't agree with your last sentence. Canada (aka Hudson's Bay Company) gave them liquor and exploited their ignorance over 100 years ago. They have had more than 5 generations to un-fook themselves.

The residential school system was a big mistake, but so is giving them autonomy. Their own people are incapable of educating themselves properly.

Hard to straighten yourselves out when the federal government establishes a culture of dependency. And more so when said government establishes a department to oversee you. None of the officials in Indian Affairs want to change the status quo...they'd be out of a job. That said some reservations ARE slowly but surely changing. A few have casinos and are making a nice profit. At least that is true for some parts of Canada (don't know about the U.S).

You want to demonize giving them too much? I'd love to cut off their benefits cold turkey. It'd cause more problems.

They need a government organization. Heck, they need 2 or 3. One, to teach them not to take their children out in their diapers when it's -40 degrees. Two, to teach them that alcoholism is not the norm. Three, to use birth control.
