Hey guys I'm headed to Geoje Island over Buddha's birthday. I'm hoping to stay right on the beach but also somewhat near civilization. Is that possible? Are all those beaches total s***? It seems like the secluded ones are really nice, but the ones with stuff around them aren't so nice.

What areas do you guys suggest?

hakdong and gujora are both quite nice (hakdong is a pebble beach, gujora is sand). Gujora has a lot of foreigners around it on weekends, in fact a group of about 30 of us camped there the weekend before last.

They are convenient because they have some accomodation next to them and they also have some shops etc. To go to the really nice beaches means leaving civilisation or cheaper acccomodation and relying on pensions close to but not on the beach.
