|
|
I'm here in Korea and have my internet set up. I am getting 12mpbs download speeds from speed tests, but when I access websites (mainly US based websites) it takes a lot longer than it seems it should.
Is there any type of remedy for this?
Thanks! |

You answered your own question. US based websites are slower in Korea. I'm pretty sure it's hard to "remedy" that extra several thousand kilometers of cable the signal's got to go through. |

Haha, yeah. Damn.
It's just frustrating to have such a "fast connection" yet all the sites I visit take a lot longer to load...
Oh well.. it wont take long to forget about it |

It is depressing. I've seen my students download a 1.5gig movie from a Korean site in less than five minutes on a school computer. I'm lucky if a youtube video streams without stopping every few seconds. |

I get most torrents on the quick. Only the legal ones without copyright protection, though (of course) |

Downloads are fast, streaming is slow unless its a Korean website you are streaming from |

In this case we should all strive to find korean websites that either have an English mode, or ones you can easily figure out by clicking large buttons. the more the better. Just for like, downloading and the like. |
