So I got my e7 visa 3 months ago. The program for which I was hired is closing and I have decided (being forced? ) to move on. Do I need to get a new CBC? I am sorry if this has been covered before, but Immigration told me that I do not need to submit a new one (on the phone) and told me that I did (in person). One recruiter told me I have to do everything all over again, and another said that I do need to do a visa run, but obtaining my visa issuance number this time will only require my original diploma. I have not left the country since receiving my visa, and will not leave before I submit my new application for E2 visa. I know that if you have been on your visa 6 months then you don't have to submit all the documents again - you can just transfer the visa. What about my situation? I know I will have to go to Japan again, but will I have to submit everything again? It is quite a hassle for me and family back home obtaining this CBC. Anyone? |

It would largely depend on what you are switching to and what your E7 was originally for.
If you are changing visa class (E7 to E2) then you need a complete set of documents.
If you are switching E7 to E7 it would be case specific depending on what you are switching from/to in terms of employment. |

How ridiculous. I just submitted one 4 months ago and I have been here the whole time. Oh how I love bureaucracy! Thanks for the reply however. |

Another question: (sorry!)
Do I need to get my transcripts from my Bachelor's again? Or can I just use my transcripts from my Master's (I also have my Diploma from Master's)? I ask because I have extra copies of my Master's Transcripts (sealed), but would have to send off for Bachelor's transcripts. Even the bureaucrats at Immigration would surely know that in order to get your Master's you have to have a Bachelor's...right? |

IF it is a "new" visa application you need a full and complete set of the basic stuff. Degree parchment (or copy with apostille), CBC (with apostille) and SEALED, official transcripts (for the Bachelor degree).
It is not unique to Korea.. most countries treat subsequent "new" applications the same way INCLUDING: Canada, UK, USA, Aus, and NZ. I don't know about S.A. or Ireland but I expect they are similar.
