Does anyone have experience going to Tioman Island, Malaysia, from Singapore? Did you fly, take the bus/ferry... just curious how you did it. Thanks!

I do. I have flown from both Singapore and KL to Tioman on Berjaya Air. Taking the bus/ferry combo, especially from Singapore, wouldn't be so fun. Good luck!

there used to be a direct boat from singapore, but not any more.
the bus boat combo is not very fun, although if you like challenge and meeting people it can be, i'd see about flying if i went again.

If I went back I would definitely fly. The bus/ferry route was a good way to meet people, but because of rough seas it took 5 hours from the mainland to the island. It was supposed to be 90 minutes and a lot of people were in rough shape during that ride. The fish behind that rust bucket were well fed.

On the other hand I do think the madness that is the Johor Bahru bus station is something that should be experienced once.

I took the boat and bus from Tiomann to Singapore. It didn't take too long, a few hours if my memory serves me correctly. Lovely little island BTW.
