|
|
having spent the last twenty minutes on the phone i still cannot determine exactly the list od things i need to send to the embassy.
i've received my visa confirmation number. it's my first E2 so i assume i'll require an interview, although the person i spoke to at the embassy stated its the consuls decision.
they say all the information is on the embassy website but if anyone has seen the website then you'll know half the links don't work and it looks like someone made it on a lunch break.
so far the list of things i have is:
Passport
1 Passport picture [some say 2, some say 3]
Completed E2 visa form
Consuls Checklist
Health Statement
Sealed Transcripts
Photocopy of CBR
Photocopy of degree cert.
Visa fee
Pre-paid postage for your documents to be returned
Although half of these things aren't needed in some of things i've read..especially the pre-paid envelope if i have to have an interview.
I just really don't want to not send anything they later need. I've had enough experience with this whole process to know nothings exactly easy and there's always some pointless hoop you need to jump through.. |

OP, need to know what country you are coming from.
In the US, you need:
Passport
two photos
sealed transcripts
visa fee(i think $45)
Visa issuance number
An appointment for an interview if it's your first E-2
Don't need an envelope if you hang out for a few hours. My girlfriends and mine took about two hours.
I just did this two months ago, so info is fairly current. |

I've bolded the things I sent 6 months ago. Things might have changed, but it's unlikely. I didn't send the last one as I picked my passport up. Any Brits applied more recently than 6 months ago to collaborate what I sent?
It's highly unlikely you'll need an interview for your first time in the UK. The other 6 countries seem to interview everyone. For whatever reason the embassy in the UK doesn't seem to.
ETA: I may have sent the a photocopy of the CBR. I honestly can't remember or not. |

thanks guys. i'm doing it from england.
morrisonhotel, cheers - it seems thats the uk consulate doesn't require half the things most of the others do. i might throw in the photocopies as i've got some kicking about, but i'm going to leave to transcripts out.
the visa fee has to be a postal order, i thought those things were extinct!
my school wants to know how long it'll take, i assume a week-ish, but the woman at the embassy said up to three weeks[!]
oh dear. |

So you (I) need sealed transcripts for sending to the employer to get the visa issuance number, and then another set for the embassy interview? Is that right? 2 sets needed issued with last 6 months?
Thanks, |

I sent both out with my documents to Korea. I never sent any transcripts to the embassy. This may have changed in 6 months. |

You need to read the website of your korean embassy. In AUS you need:
Required documents to apply for Visa;
Original passport
Photograph
Visa application form(attached file)
Number or copy of Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance
Consul's checklist for E-2 Applicant(must be witnessed by Justices of Peace)
A$75.00 visa fee (Money order, bank cheque or cash is accepted)
Self-addressed prepaid courier bag(Express post Platinum from post office)
Embassy will contact you for a interview
Remember, you are not applying for the visa, your visa issuance no shows that, you are getting the stamp in your passport.
