"Korea Exchange Bank is also planning to launch a check card exclusively for expats in Korea, possibly later this month or in early June. The bank has been offering credit cards specifically for foreigners since 2004. "

What's different about this new KEB check card from the Global Check Card they've had all along?

Ugh. Don't give them your business, unless they can substantially beat KEB's offer. Woori's just doing this because KEB did it first - but they wouldn't make the first move because it's "their" bank, not ours.

Woori may be a latecomer to the expat card check thing but they should be lauded for their efforts to accommodate foreigners in other ways, such as the language options at ATMs and even Sunday business hours at certain branches for remittances. Yes, they're making a mint in fees but the convenience makes it worthwhile.

Great job Woori, offering me a quality BC card that still cannot be used anywhere outside of the great shining peninsula. Thanks for trying.

Interesting as I bank with Woori and much prefer the online transactions, especially when I transfer money in my drawers at home on my PC whenever I want....AND....get a big discount on the exchange rate. Very Happy

It just never seems to be particularly stable. I got a big discount on the exchange rate in branch.

Nothing wrong with their internet banking, except that it was a pain to get set up. Transfers (domestic and international) are a breeze.
