Hey guys-
My husband and I are moving to Yeosu in mid-June. Since we're coming from the US, we're coming into Incheon. We're also bringing our dogs. If not immediately, soon after. Our problem/concern is how we get our dogs from Incheon to our house!
I'm open to any suggestions! |

there are agents that organize the entire trip for your dogs. Otherwise, you can go to Incheon and pick them up. |

I wouldn't waste your time with a shipping company when you can do it on your own, especially with two of you and two dogs. If you do a search there are a bunch of threads about bringing pets, and at this site - http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/ - under the forums section is also some good information, links, etc. |

But...how do I get them from the airport to our house? Our big dog is too big for busses or trains. |

I wouldn't bring them on first trip to a new job. Maybe come, see that the job and apartment works out in being suitable for 2 dogs, and then go home on vacation to get them and another load of your belongings you might like to have if you plan on staying a while. I left behind a cat and many belongings with my mother. She wanted the cat since hers ran off so it worked out that way. |

Big dog in apartment in the city. Not a great idea. dog will be alone indoors all day. then what a brief walk . big dogs need room and exercise. Come and see what it's like first. think of your dogs needs not just what you want. |

Not all big dogs need room and exercise. It depends on the breed.
OP You might need to rent a van. How big is the dog? What breed? Make sure you've got all of your ducks in a row with quarentine. |

I should probably clarify a few things!
It looks like some of you are thinking that I am bringing my 60 lb Australian Cattle Dog and 7 lb Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix to live in a studio apartment where they will be left alone for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I don't want ANYONE to think that I would do that to my dogs!
I am going to teach, and my husband will be coming on a dependent visa. We will be living in a 3 bedroom home outside of the city. The house has a fenced yard.
I have the list of all requirements for sending them along, and we're getting it all done this weekend.
I had no idea renting a car would be an option. In the US, it seems like such an ordeal. I guess I really only need an international license. Thanks, everyone!
We may HAVE to wait for a while to have them come, but if we do, we'll have a friend come over with them and meet all three at the airport. |

Renting a car is definitely the easiest....you can rent a mini-van even for only $100/day....drive down, unload, spend the night and then drive the van back up the following day...then take the bus back to Yeosu from Incheon. With gas, tolls, and bus fare you'd only be out 250,000 or so, maybe less.
My guess is that the van service would cost more than 500,000 from Incheon to Yeosu, but I don't know. |

You'll probably find the rental company has a depot a lot closer to Yeosu where you can drop it off. It would be a royal pain if you had to drive the rental all the way back to Incheon!! |
