Ok, I'm starting to get World Cup fever! Supervisor asked me if I was traveling this summer - I only could look clueless - I thought the whole world knew I was staying home and watching the big screen.....

In preparation I took the World Cup Quiz I got 8/20. Tough as hell. Can you beat me???? (the questions are randomly chosen from a database of 200).

13/20. There were a couple that I was very surprised at (Hungary having scored more goals on average than Brazil - who knew?).

I've already got it.

I'm getting nervous about Thursdays semi-final.

That was very difficult for me. I have almost no interest in soccer, hence my dismal score of 5.

Oh, anything under 50% is always bad in my book - no excuses allowed!

I'm a Canuck but also quite Europeanized with family in Europe. So since the get go, was more into "football" than hockey / baseball.

hats off on your score though - you'd clean up if it were a Jeopardy category...

16/20

In my defense I don't know anything about world cup mascots and I 'misclicked' on the 1958 runner up one.

My dad would endlessly talk about the great world cup teams down the years and i never lost interest. Funnily enough his 2 of his 3 fave teams were losers. Brazil 82, Holland 74 and Germany 74. He was a massive beckenbauer fan and thought that they could have given Brazil a better run for their money in 1970.

JMO

your dad was probably right!

Unfortunately Franz Beckanbauer dislocated his shoulder vs Italy in the semis so he probably wouldn't have been available for the final had West Germany won. He played a good part of the game and extra time with his shoulder strapped!

On the other hand, had Gordon Banks the greatest goalkeeper of all time been available when England lost to West Germany in extra time then we probably would have seen an England v Brazil final and that would have been a classic!

I think Banks was 'nobbled' by the CIA!

Nigeria
Argentina
Greece
Bulgaria
2010 World Cup Group B

Argentina
Greece
South Korea

Odds anyone?

3 out of 4 ain't bad!

That is SUPER difficult I think - I got 8/20 first round, and 12/20 second round. 17/20? Big props!!
