|
|
So I am trying to figure out how to get myself and my cat from Incheon to Daegu and then from Daegu to Ulsan and was wondering if people know whether or not pets in carriers are allowed on buses and/or trains? I am pretty sure they're ok on trains, but I am curious about alternative ways to get where I need to go just in case flying isn't an option.
There is another similar thread where it was suggested to rent a car, but I am curious how difficult it will be to navigate out of Incheon to my destination without being able to speak/read Korean and doing it on probably a few hours of sleep and jet lag. Anyone have any experience with this? |

As long as they are in a bag, or carrier. It should be fine. If the cat starts making noises then you might get looks. We have had some bus drivers suggest that we put our dog under the bus. Of course we say no and take them on with us. Some ppl are just ignorant when it comes to animals. We have never had trouble on the trains. |

You can take pets on public transport but they do have to be in carriers, you can see now on the subway there are some hints for travelling and one of them is putting your pet in a carrier... you shouldn't have any problems so long as it isn't noisy |

I've done it on subway and KTX
For the KTX (long trips) I would suggest bringing along a sheet/blanket and covering your pet's carrier. People get fussy about it sometimes if they can see the animal and will complain (though pets are allowed). A friend of mine did it, and every time was pressured by the attendants to move to another compartment because someone was upset about the animal. |

Awesome! Thank you everyone! That definitely makes me feel better knowing that there are a bunch of options. Now to just choose which one..hmmm... |

I've taken my dog everywhere I wanted to without any hassle. I have a bag to carry him in, rather than a cage, and haven't had any issues. On the subways sometimes I take him out of the bag and let him sit on my lap, because the bag gets too hot, and - still - no issues. |

If they can put snakes on a plane I'm sure cats on a train will be fine. |

Just make sure to clean it up if your dogs craps on the subway. There's a nasty precedent to that. |
