I have some how managed to loose my passport. I have no idea where, when, how etc. I'm just beginning to fill out all the paperwork to get a new one, but I'm completly clueless as to how to go about getting a new E-2 visa. Does anyone have any info?
Thanks ! |

Do you already have an E2 visa? Are you already in Korea?
If you already have the E2 and your alien registration card, I'm pretty sure you can get a new passport without it affecting your visa status.
I lost my passport in Korea BEFORE I could leave the country to get my E2 visa confirmation, so I got rushed a temporary passport and managed to leave the country and get my visa.
To find out what you need to know, give more details.
PS - please don't teach your students that 'somehow', 'lose' and 'completely' are spelt like that (it gives a bad impression). |

| If you have your alien registration card you are fine. My boyfriend recently lost his passport and ARC card, once he received the new passport from his consulate he went to the provincial office to get a new card and multiple entry stamp in his new passport....it was no problem. Your visa is in the immigration database...so you're fine. |

| It's been answered, but chiming in with another assurance--you're fine. I lost my passport during my homeleave between contracts last year. Your visa status is in immigration's system. I didn't even have to pay to replace the multiple reentry visa when I went in to have it replaced. |
