Ugh, So i think I burnt out my PSU.
I bought a new Tb external drive at Costco cause my 500Gb Buffalo was making some clicking sounds.
When I got home on Sunday I tried to turn on my PC only to find out that it wouldn't even boot up.
(and I thought that the clicking was being made by the external hard drive.. it probably wasn't getting enough juice - USB powered)

Anyway.. now I have a dilemma should I try to buy as new PSU or just get a whole new case/mother board but salvave the video card and RAM (both of which i just upgraded - leading to the PSU burnout i suspect)

first confirm that it's the psu that's dead. Then replace it. Problem solved.

You should indeed confirm it's the PSU. Does absolutely nothing happen when you press power? No fans turning? No noise at all?

that's right. no fans at all.
just clicks a few times and my ...umm power ring lights up, but thats it.
no fans, no hard drive spinning.

I'm worried i burnt out some other stuff too, but i never saw any sparks or smoke... just clicks like if a fuse blew in a house.

Well, it's probably the PSU.......but it could also be your motherboards power circuitry.....

If possible try another PSU before you buy one.

take it to a computer shop. they'll test it with another power supply and if it works buy it.
