Hi:

I'm planning to get married soon to a Korean and get an F-2 visa. I heard today that I gotta also get an E-2 visa to teach anywhere here. Is that true?

Thanks,
Bill

All you need to have is the F2-1 visa. You can work with it.

Thanks--where do I get the info on the F2-1 visa? Do you or anyone else have a link to that info?

A degree.

Edit: An F-2-1 visa is just a combo F-2 and E-2. They require less paperwork though. You don't need the verified degree or transcripts, background check and medical.

I think you need your degree and proof you're employed/have $$.

No it's not. A F-2-1 Visa is a family visa only (though it is being changed to include long term residents who meet certain conditions)

The F-2 visa does not in any way require a degree. But to teach at any school, you need to meet the educational requirement as stated by the Ministry of Education. That means you would need a Degree with transcripts. However, I don't know if all schools require you to produce all the documents that E-visa people have to. Really depends on the school.
