thinking about bringing something in for the director.

heard it's considered as the done thing in korea to bring gifts over. not sure really what screams jolly old england more than some whiskey from some drunken scotsmen and some tea bags from some pigeon racing northener.
anyone else got any ideas? or is it even neccesary?

i fly from london to dubai then on to seoul. if i do decide on the whiskey, i'm pretty sure alcohol is really expensive in dubai, but i must be right in thinking they'll still have decent offers in the duty free bit?

It's not necessary, but it will be appreciated and will get you off to a good start with your director.

Even a small gift from your home country is better than nothing, and whiskey better than most!

Don't go higher than 12-year-old Ballantines. Most Koreans know
nothing about whisky. So you will be wasting your money buying
an interesting single malt.

That's right.
Stick with Ballantines, Chivas Regal or Johnny Walker.
Anything else is unknown. Maybe that's a good thing if you already know the person, but go with a safe bet for a first impression.

I second the cheap stuff as a gift. I myself love Laphroaig's 17 year, but wouldn't waste the money on the unrefined palate of an agossi here.
